The top, rear section of the barrel is also stamped with "cyw" which is the WWII manufacturers code for the barrel steel. The receiver ring is partially covered with the front scope base with the left side of the receiver and barrel, both having been stamped with the Nazi Eagle/firing proof. The rear of the scope tube is marked "CARL ZEISS/JENA" over "Zielvier/Nr.54127" and it is fitted with the standard German three-post reticle and comes with a reproduction rubber eyecup. The scope has been fitted with a set of semi-circle commercial rings, with the locking latch on the rear base. The rifle is fitted with a late production Zeiss Sniper type scope. The rifle has been fitted with a set of commercial double claw scope bases with the front base dovetailed into the receiver with the rear base screwed onto the rear receiver ring. The top of the receiver is marked with a partial Eagle/26 Waffenamt with the front scope base in the middle and "42" below the base. This is an early WWII K98 Mauser type bolt action rifle that has been converted/assembled into a double claw type sniper rifle.
